Introduction

Following the success of the first meeting in Gothenburg in 2018, we intended to hold the second Joint Meeting between DMDG and the Swedish Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the same location. We have made every effort to do this, but the restrictions on travel and social distancing imposed by measures to combat the threat of Covid-19  mean that this event will now be held online.

The DMDG Secretariat has developed a one-stop webinar solution to replicate the face-2-face meeting as much as possible online. It is an interactive platform that allows for networking, poster presentations and a virtual exhibtion area that allows for direct live video interaction with poster presenters and exhibitors. This isn't 'just another zoom call', but a fantastic chance to continue scientific discussion during these challenging times!

We have produced a fantastic programme, which caters for the breadth of membership from both organisations. Although the present timings may need to be tweaked, the online meeting will lose nothing of the original content. We hope that you are inspired to join us and contribute an electronic poster at this year’s meeting, as well as contributing to the great discussion that the topics chosen will generate.

We are pleased to announce that our highly popular and entertaining debate returns this year. Steve Hood will be presiding as 'ringmaster' and will be trying to maintain a balanced yet lively debate on another topical issue.

Another highlight of the meeting will be the annual SPS 'Candlelight Lecture' to be given this year by Tommy B. Andersson.

All meeting sessions, including the Poster Session, will be held in English.

Posters
If you would like to present a poster, please tick the relevant box on the registration form and send your abstract to info@dmdg.org. Deadline for poster abstracts is Thursday 17 December 2020.
Posters will be presented during the meeting in electronic format and the will be opportunities for delegates to both view the posters and to talk to the poster presenters.

Sponsorship
There are a number of sponsorship packages on offer to enable sponsors to fully participate in the meeting and the scientific discussion. The delegate pass will include access to all of the talks and the poster session. During the pandemic, we have worked hard to be able to bring you the above online via our own unique interactive meetings platform to ensure the scientific community continues to be engaged with the DMDG. In the absence of physical meetings and exhibitions taking place currently, our online interactive platform offers some unique sponsor options that still allow you to interact ‘live’ with delegates, a well as some other ways of giving your company maximum exposure. Contact us to find out more!

To see more information on the benefits of sponsoring the meeting and to book your sponsorship, please download the Sponsorship Opportunities document.
